SugarLand Gotta Be Something More

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

Monday, hard to wake up
Fill my coffee cup, I’m out the door
Yeah, the freeway’s standing still today
It’s gonna make me late, and thats for sure
I’m running out of gas and out of time
Never gonna make it there by nine

There’s gotta be something more
Gotta be more than this
I need a little less hard time
I need a little more bliss
I’m gonna take my chances
Taking a chance I might
Find what I’m looking for
There’s gotta be something more

Five years and there’s no doubt
That I’m burnt out, I’ve had enough
So now boss man, here’s my two weeks
I’ll make it short and sweet, so listen up
Well I could work my life away, but why?
I got things to do before die

Repeat Chorus

Some believe in destiny, and some believe in fate
I believe that happiness is something we create
You best belive that I’m not gonna wait
‘Cause there’s gotta be something more

I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait
Yeah, ’cause right now I need some downtime
To drink some red wine and celebrate
Yeah, Armageddon could be knocking at my door
But I ain’t gonna answer thats for sure.
There’s gotta be
Gotta be something more

Repeat Chorus

I haven’t updated in so long that I’m not sure how to start again.

Let’s just plunge in. The main reason I haven’t updated is so much is going on in my world that isn’t my story to share. Someday, when all these things are resolved I’ll have months worth of material, until then, well, we go with what I have.

My life really hasn’t been that exciting. I’m stuck in a rut: Watch kids, play Kingdom of Loathing, write a little, chat a lot, sleep a tiny amount, then get up and do it all over again. I’ll go with each of those broken down a bit.

Watch Kids:

The nephews, or 2 of them. Tre and Charlie. Tre is now almost 2 and just full of energy. Right now he’s standing in the hall going “Baseball” and tossing his ball trying to convince all of us to play with him. He’s also in need of a nap as he’s cranky. He’s still a bitty thing weighing only about 24 pounds and short.

Charlie is now 5 months old, weighs 16 or so pounds and is just the happiest baby on the planet. He will sit or play for quite some time, squealing his little lungs out in glee. He’s lying on the bed now, asleep in just a diaper as it’s hot and humid here.

Kingdom of Loathing:

If you don’t play this, you should be. It is the silliest RPG on the planet. Even a none gamer like me can enjoy it and play it well. I spend hours a day running my characters, and characters of friends who can’t that day.

This is part of my KoL addiction, I’ve never been a big online chatter as I bore easily. If things aren’t moving fast, I duck out. Well, on KoL I have found a multitude of people who are not only smart but, funny and just incredible. I’ve made a bunch of friends and I have chat open in the background almost all the time I’m online.

Yeah, still with the weird sleeping, insomnia thing. I fell asleep about 10 minutes to 6 this morning and was back up at 8AM. One of these days, I’m going to collapse in a heap and sleep for a month.

Not here, obviously, but, I was struck with some inspiration and I’m working on a novel. Actually, I’m working on the outline and have started a blog as the main character to work out parts of the story. That alone keeps my mind occupied quite a bit as the people in the story talk to me.

Yes, talk to me, they have lives of their own, I’m just here to let them out. My other writing has been, blah, lately as all inspiration is being poured into this project.

Speaking of which, FBG is password protected until I completely redo the site. I’m tired of all the comments from men asking for naked pictures of me. Which, hello, I am so not the type of woman you’d expect to get things like that.

Now, I have emails to go respond to, as I’ve been lax about that as well. I hope y’all are having a great weekend.
