I have had migraines for 30+ years, ever since I was a very young child. When I was a little girl, my Daddy used to sit on the side of my bed, rubbing my back, trying to send my headaches to the moon. In fact that is one of the most heartwarming moments of my childhood. Even though the pain was immense, the love I felt from my Dad was even larger.

Now, I’m 34 and still suffer from migraines, albeit not as often as when I was a teenager. In fact, there were times during high school that I didn’t go a week without at least a couple serious headaches. Now, I have mild headaches at least once a week but the serious ones are much less often.

Today was one of the bad days. In fact I have taken enough pain relievers that my stomach is in knots and feels like I’m being stabbed from the inside. The pain in my head is less than it was this morning but the migraine is still there. One of the symptoms of my migraines are a weird fuzziness and tic in my left eye. Right now the tic and fuzziness are still there, even while the pain is manageable.

I’m fighting to stay upright so I can finish doing the things I need to get down tonight prior to lying back down, right now though the headache is winning.
