Silent Night, not necessarily Holy Night...

Yeah, just the two of us are here, the entire family is at darts, including those that don't leave here.  I don't even have any kids with me.

Wow, I don't know how to react.  I can cook in peace, eat in peace, watch a movie, address Christmas Cards (80 and counting!), just relax.

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...

We ate a standby dinner tonight, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits.  Nothing at all redeeming about it, other than it tasted good.  Two tv tables, the Christmas tree lit up, music playing in the background.

Oh, the Weather outside is frightful...

Not snow, of course not, it's raining, again.  The front yard is now the Colonial Beach Mud Wrestling Association's official pit.  I'm afraid to let the dog out as the yard might swallow him.  The evening is ticking on way too fast for me.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Kyrstin tonight came in and brought a stick with here.  It had about 4 leaves and was wet with rain.  The stick was her misletoe.  She placed it on each of our heads and gave us a kiss.  Hey, she's got the idea.

And Kyrsie kisses make me smile.  I love that little girl.

There's only one more sleep 'til Christmas...

Well, not really, but entirely too few.  I have one gift left to buy, but I have a billion cookies to bake, a bunch of stockings to sew (ha, about the monster style, it's plain ones, I just don't have the time this year), and cards to finish.

Not to mention CHristmas movies to watch, carols to sing, and actually enjoyment of the season instead of rushing around like a chicken with her head cut off.

I vow I will finish this weekend and have next week to bake, watch Christmas movies and enjoy the time between Christmas and New Year's.

Shot, must buy tickets for New Year's Eve and Thursday I have to wrap gifts for the kids at the Lodge.  And wrap everything that is slowly appearing on our doorstep.

One day, I'll have that nice peaceful December, right?  Right?
