Cookies, cookies, cookies.

I just spent hours upon hours baking cookies for my Granny.  Chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, orange cranberry, sugar, and peanut butter.  If I never saw a cookie again, I'd be happy.

Yet, I have to do this again next week and all of those are from scratch.  Am I insane?

Obviously.  But, I will prevail, I am the cookie lady.  Okay, I'm a glutton for punishment, we have to have cookies or it is not Christmas.  What I wouldn't give for a Kitchen Aid stand mixer.  That's the worst part of baking, the blasted stirring.  My arms are not meant to stir 8 billion batches of cookies.

And neither are my fingers.  For some reason the first knuckle on all my fingers feel like someone has crushed them.  Over the last couple of weeks they have begun to swell and ache and make me want to not do anything that involves bending them.

Do you realize how many times a day you bend your fingers at that knuckle?  How much you depend on them for every little thing?  I had no  clue until they started to ache, there is nothing you do during the day that doesn't involve them.  From touching your face, brushing your hair, typing, mousing, opening a bag, smoking a cigarette, all of those involve moving that joint.

A couple of the fingers on my left hand are starting to curve at the joint as well.  They're no longer straight in fact they are starting to look like bendy straws, which is not a good thing.

That is why I'm stopping here, for now, it is getting too painful to type.

Have a good one.
