Halloween was fun. We had our pumpkins all of seven of them done (pictures of them and the kids are here), it was an all night project, which I have a good write up of, but that will be posted another day. We had kids probably 100-120 trick or treaters throughout the evening. Everything from Ralphie from a Christmas Story (a cute little girl in a rabbit suit) to ghosts, goblins, princesses, giraffes, and a dead cheerleader. I had a blast handing out candy, as I always do. Now, getting ready for the evening, I through on my Halloween dress, yes, I have dress that is for Halloween. It's a black topped dress with a candy corn print skirt. In fact, here's the fabric I used to make the dress.
I had decided that I wasn't up to wearing the pumpkin costume, as it's big and bulky and hot, with all the massive amount of stuffing it takes to turn my into a jack-o-lantern, so I sat here, brushing out my hair and decided I'd do a quicky silly thing. I pulled out my pink hair spray (what doesn't everyone have a can of colored hair spray in their cupboard) and sprayed my hair. That wasn't quite enough so I grabbed the glitter spray and added that to it. Yes, I have glitter hair spray. In fact if I had gone to the store today, I would have more colored hairsprays as I love them and use them throughout the year. Since I didn't make it, well I'm a little sad, as I won't have colored hair at the touch of a button this year. I threw on some Mardi Gras beads, grabbed the bucket of candy and bead necklaces, lit all our pumpkins and sat on the porch. I love watching the kids and their costumes, had a blast listening to the shrieks of terror throughout the neighborhood, as we had multiple houses with scary stuff (and no less than 3 houses with chainsaws.) By 9:00 PM the kids were going home, the pumpkins were fading, Kyrsie was here watching a movie with me, and RJP III was on his way to sleep. I took a shower, read a few forum entries online, and relaxed from my evening. All in all, a quiet peaceful Halloween, no big parties, but I had fun. I hope you all had a good Halloween or Samhain. Have a great weekend. Suzy Smith
