Yeah, it's like that.  Okay, there are two new ones before this one, they start here.

No excuses, it's just how it is for now.  Infrequent updates until life slows down.  If you want to know when I update, I'd really join the notify list, especially if you were who tells me "Update your shit" (ahem, love ya Tracey.)

Quick tidbits before the real entry:

My wrists are much better, my right one twinges from time to time, but it's workable now.  Typing is still a little slower than before, but eventually I'll be back to normal with it.

Dad goes back to work next week, he's doing very well.

RJP III is growing like a weed, he now weighs 11.5 lbs, up almost 6 pounds since birth.

Tony's school is going well and I've gone with him twice this week to help break up his drive.

Tonight we went hunting.

Pumpkin hunting that is.  A search to find the perfect pumpkins to carve into all sorts of silly ass jack-o-lanterns.  We loaded into the van, thinking we'd stop at one of the small stores or the various vegetable stands as we headed towards his college.

Stop number 1.  3 pitiful looking pumpkins, one that looked like it would not stand up if you put two legs and size 15 shoes on it.

We drove on.

A few miles down the road we saw a flash of orange as we whizzed by.  Main road, too fast to stop, besides they were all small ones.  On we went.  Nothing for miles.  No pumpkins anywhere.

We pressed on.

A vegetable stand appearred on the horizon.  We pulled in.  No pumpkins, again.

Now, I'm getting worried.

Yes, I know that sounds funny.  A grown woman worried about damn orange gourds.  There is good, strong, sound reasoning behind it.

I love Halloween.  It's my favorite holiday.  Oh, sure Christmas is good, Fourth of July, fine.  Nothing like Halloween to me, though.  I adore dressing up in costume.  I love the pumpkins, the sounds, the scary, spooky stuff.  I love handing out candy to little kids.

It's in the middle of my favorite season and I love it.

Last year, there was not much of a Halloween for me.  I got home from the hospital Halloween afternoon.  Just in time to hand out candy.  No jack-o-lanterns or anything for me.

And I was sad.  Very sad.  No time to check out all the Halloween decorations or the candy or find a second costume.  Yeah, normally I have 2 costumes a year.  One for whatever party/bar/etc we're going to.  The other for Halloween night.

I wore my pumpkin costume both nights.  Yes, I did make it to the bar, in fact, when we got home from the bar is when we realized that the cellulitis had grown.

And flowers.  I love fall flowers, fall arrangements, I did not even get to see a single one.

Several more stands, no pumpkins.  Then we saw it.  A stand full of them, we pulled in.  Slowly we moved our vehicle to the front of the trailer holding multiple pumpkins.

And saw a sign that said 7.00/dollars each.

Ha!  I wanted pumpkins, but there was no way we could afford that.  We pulled back out and I just sighed.  We had one more place to try.

Wal-mart.  When we were there earlier in the week they had pumpkins outside.  Today, nothing.

Not good, not good at all.  Tony dropped me off and went to park the van.  I headed in.  As I slowly made my way into the store, I saw them.  Three boxes of orange globes.

I grabbed a cart and loaded two pumpkins up. Grinning from ear to ear.  Tony walked up, started looking through them with me.

Then the produce man said "We have big ones, over here."

We headed around the aisle.  Gigantic pumpkins.  On sale $5.00 each.  I squealed outload.  We loaded up one great big one, 6 small ones.

I'm a very happy girl.  I'm home, I have pumpkins.  No parties as my bar is closed.  No new costume, no fall flowers.  But enough pumpkins to make me as happy as can be.
