 January 4, 2004
Today was a good day.  I had a Moose meeting which lasted right around and hour and then we had to book to town for dinner.  My meeting went great, I had to do several speaking parts, and I did a fairly good job with them, even though I was a nervous wreck.  It seems that nerves work for me.  That worked in school for presentations and when I acted in various plays.  Yes, I acted, in fact I was a damn good actress.  A new fact about me, that I don't think I've ever discussed here.

As I was saying, we were meeting friends for dinner (Hi Jo-Anne, Stacy, and Lexi!)  Well, for the two of us it was breakfast lunch and dinner, as we hadn't eaten all day.

Eat, we did, massive quantities of food, more than I would normally eat in multiple days, but it was good, I was hungry and we stayed for quite awhile.  We talked on and on, laughing at Lexi, as she is one of those just darling little girls who is funny as hell.  Funnier than a not quite four year old should be, actually.  And it doesn't help that Tony and I laugh at her, even when we know we shouldn't.

Like when she was lapping at her drink like a puppy dog.  We tried to look and not let her parents know what she was doing.  Alas, she was thwarted in her efforts and her Daddy reigned her in.

Lexi doesn't handle being called down for things.  She doesn't act up, in fact she gets embarassed for misbehaving and tends to hide her face from us until it is okay again.  It's really very cute.

And really, she's a very well behaved child.  Over a 2.5 - 3 hour dinner she didn't cry or fuss or cause any problems at all.  I wouldn't imagine that to be possible for most kids.

After dinner we went our seperate ways, I'm placing bets that Lexi didn't make it far before she fell asleep in the car, as she was fading fast by that time.

We made our way down to the one shooting range, loaded all our magazines and headed inside to shoot for awhile.  We didn't have long only about 40 minutes, but got in quite a bit of shooting in those minutes.  I'm not up to shooting for long as my left fingers are still acting up.

Tony though, holy shit, he is becoming an amazingly good shot.  Only a couple shots, even at really long distances, where outside the 10 ring. The few shoots that were outside were at the farthest out distances.  Me, on the otherhand, well, put it this way, I need to shoot more often.  It's fun, but I have no natural shooting ability, at all.

I still enjoy it, I'll just never be a competitive shooter.

Since then, Tony's finished his final school work for the semester, barring one exam tomorrow and I've surfed the internet.  I still haven't found a simple portal program or anyone that has a portal like what Holidailies uses, but I'm not defeated, yet.  I'm bound and determined to keep writing, I just want that push of a portal to keep it a daily or almost daily activity.

Have a great Monday.
